Jeju Air – A brief history

Jeju Air, the first and largest low-cost airline in South Korea, was established on January 25, 2005, as a joint venture between Aekyung Group and the Jeju Island government. Named after the picturesque Jeju Island, the airline quickly became Korea's pioneer in the low-cost airline sector. In 2016, Jeju Air played a key role in the creation of the Value Alliance, the world's first pan-regional low-cost carrier (LCC) alliance, uniting eight Asia Pacific LCCs. With 17 hubs across Australia, North Asia, and Southeast Asia, Jeju Air offers unmatched access to over 160 destinations.

Despite its success, the COVID-19 pandemic heavily impacted Jeju Air's flight operations. In an effort to secure financing for its operations, the airline conducted a stock sale in August 2021, raising an impressive $180 million.

Jeju Air – BTS-themed airplane for FESTA 2023

Jeju Air operates both domestic and international flights, serving destinations in China, Japan, Russia, the Mariana Islands, and several Southeast Asian countries. Recently, the airline made an exciting announcement, revealing its partnership in the 2023 BTS FESTA, commemorating the 10th anniversary of BTS's debut. As part of the celebration, Jeju Air plans to feature specially themed aircraft with images of BTS members on its international routes until the year's end. The collaboration will include aircraft wrapping, commemorative boarding tickets, and flight ticket discounts for fans.
