Gulf Air check-in
Gulf Air's check-in methods enable you to check in online, on your mobile device, at a self-check-in machine or at the airline check-in desk in the airport.
In the event you are travelling with pets, or if you have specific on-board requirements, be sure to check in at the airline check-in desk in the airport.
Gulf Air online check-in
Online check-in opens from 24 hours up to 90 minutes prior to departure and makes it possible for passengers to select a seat and print out their boarding pass or get it on their mobile phone (check the possibility of mobile check-in in the airport you are departing from).
Gulf Air mobile check-in
Mobile check-in makes it possible for you to check in for your flight and download the boarding pass at your leisure. Checking in, seat booking, and receipt of your mobile boarding pass is all possible from 24 hours up to 90 minutes before the scheduled flight departure, using your mobile phone. Be sure to check the availability of mobile check-in in your airport of departure.
If you have an issue with your mobile boarding pass, you can visit the airline check-in desk or a check-in machine (if available) for a standard paper one. In the event you are experiencing issues with your phone, or have mistakenly deleted your boarding pass, the above further applies.
Gulf Air check-in machines
These are the screens you may use to check in at the airport. Make sure to check that check-in machines are available before arriving at the airport you are departing from. With most types of check-in machines, you have the possibility to check in with your passport, or by typing your last name and the flight booking reference (found in your booking confirmation).
Gulf Air check-in time & deadlines
Check-in deadlines exist so that flights take off on time. Verify you have your boarding pass and have checked in any baggage before the deadline, whether you checked in on your mobile device, at the check-in desk, or at a check-in machine.

Economy Class – limited to 1 item of carry-on baggage up to 6 kg
Business Class – limited to 1 item of carry-on baggage up to 9 kg

Gulf Air excess baggage rules
There are several things to consider in relation to excess and special baggage.
Baggage considered to be excess
Economy Class – over 23 kg (maximum 32 kg)
Gulf Air baggage policy: Sports equipment
It is advisable to reserve for sports equipment early, as the aircraft usually has limited allocated space for such items.
Gulf Air luggage issues
Damaged baggage, or baggage not arriving at the destination, can be attributed to a number of variables. The baggage handling area having technical problems, bad weather, or the baggage tag coming loose, can all cause issues with your bags.
Gulf Air: Baggage delayed or damaged
A report needs to be made promptly to the Gulf Air baggage tracing desk or service counter in the unfortunate event your baggage is damaged or has not arrived at the destination airport. Each flight document should be kept, specifically your baggage claim tag and boarding pass.
Written confirmation is always necessary, and a reference number of your claim. Make sure you have this until your baggage is delivered or resolution of your claim.
There is also the possibility to enforce a claim for issues with baggage by enlisting MYFLYRIGHT, more details on this can be found here.

Travelling with children on Gulf Air flights
There has to be a separate seat purchased for children who are aged two (2) and above. Country regulations differ for minors (under-age children), regardless if they are travelling alone or with an adult.
You must always find out about all necessary documents prior to travelling, or else you can be denied entry or exit in a country. Keep in mind that booking must be done for carrycots when booking a flight ticket.
Children’s menu – can be pre-ordered up to 24 hours before departure.
Travelling with pets on Gulf Air flights
Travelling with pets with Gulf Air is allowed but only in cargo.
The weight and scale of your pet and restrictions for countries and other airlines (if you have a connecting flight for example) establish whether you are allowed to fly with them – if the animal complies with regulations, it is allowed to be carried with an extra fee as carry-on baggage, or within the plane's cargo hold.
