Thai Airways check-in

It is possible to check in with Thai Airways using several methods - online, on your mobile phone or tablet, or in the airport with a self-check-in machine or at the airline check-in desk.

Passengers who demand specific on-board services, or who are travelling with pets, are required to check in at the airline counter in the departure airport.

Discover more about ways to check in with Thai Airways here.

Thai Airways online check-in

Online check-in is possible 24 hours ahead of the departure and makes it possible for you to select your seat and either print out your boarding pass or get it in mobile version (be aware that not all airports have mobile check-in as a choice).

Thai Airways mobile check-in

You are able to simply check in and download the mobile boarding pass to your device wherever you are. From 24 hours prior to departure, you can check in, book your seat, and get your boarding pass using your mobile phone. Mobile check-in is not possible in all airports, so it is important to look this up when planning your trip.

In case you have a problem with your mobile boarding pass, you can go to the airline check-in desk or a check-in machine (where available) for a regular paper one. If you’re having problems with your phone, or have mistakenly deleted your boarding pass, the above is further applicable.

Thai Airways self-check-in machines

These are the stand-alone computer screens for use in airports for checking yourself in. Always make sure that check-in machines are available prior to travelling to the airport of departure. With most check-in machines, you can check in using your passport, or by entering your last name and the flight booking reference (found in your booking confirmation).

Thai Airways check-in time: Deadlines

The point of check-in deadlines is to make sure flights leave on time. You should have checked in baggage and have your boarding pass – regardless of how you checked in – prior to the deadline.

Please follow the link for additional information in relation to Thai Airways check-in deadlines.

Thai Airways baggage allowance

Further details about Thai Airways' baggage policy can be found below.

Thai Airways hand luggage / carry-on baggage

Your flight ticket travel class determines the carry-on baggage allowance when flying with Thai Airways. The carry-on baggage must comply with the airline’s regulations.

You must check your carry-on baggage at a Thai Airways counter or, if available, at the departure airport, by using a self-service bag drop service, when it does not conform to the airline's regulations. It is important to note that this may require an extra charge.

Carry-on baggage dimensions – max. 55 x 45 x 25 cm
Dimensions of foldable garment bags – max. 37 x 25 x 12 cm

Thai Airways sports baggage policy

It is a good idea to make a reservation for your sports equipment before travelling because there is a limitation on the amount of space available for these items.

Thai Airways baggage problems

Baggage getting damaged or failing to get to the destination can be because of several variables. The baggage handling area having technical problems, unfavourable weather conditions, or the baggage tag detaching, can all lead to a variety of issues with your baggage.

Thai Airways: luggage which is damaged / delayed

Damaged or delayed baggage needs to be declared promptly at the Thai Airways baggage tracing desk or the airline's service desk. It is necessary to keep all flight documents, most importantly your boarding pass and baggage claim tag.

You must always provide your claim reference number and written confirmation. Till your baggage is delivered, or claim resolution, it is necessary to save these documents.

There is also the option to enforce a claim for problems with baggage employing MYFLYRIGHT, more detailed information on this can be found here.

Thai Airways flight ticket booking: Travel classes

The quality of accommodation onboard is dependent on the travel class. The choice of classes available differs by airline.
