Flight delays and cancellations in April 2026
April 2026 has created another difficult month for air travel across Europe. While winter weather is no longer the main concern, passengers are still facing delays and cancellations caused by operational pressure, airspace congestion, staffing issues, and strike-related disruption. For many travellers, the outcome has been the same: missed connections, long waits at the airport, cancelled plans, and unexpected stress.
What many passengers still do not realise is that they may have rights under EU Regulation 261/2004. If your flight arrived late, was cancelled, or caused you to reach your final destination with a significant delay, you could be entitled to compensation of up to €600.
