Widerøe flight check-in options

Widerøe's check-in choices enable you to check in online, using your mobile device, at a check-in machine or at the airline check-in desk at the airport.

In the event that you demand certain services onboard the plane or are flying with pets, make sure to check in at the check-in desk in the airport of departure.

Widerøe online check-in

Online check-in starts 48 hours prior to scheduled flight departure and makes it possible for you to select your seat and either print out your boarding pass or get it in mobile version (note that not all airports have mobile check-in as a possibility).

Widerøe mobile check-in

Checking in and downloading the boarding pass to your mobile device is simple, efficient, and makes it possible for you to get ready for your flight irrespective of where you happen to be. Mobile check-in is not available in all airports, so it is important to check this when preparing for your journey.

In case you have problems with your mobile boarding pass, you can visit the airline check-in counter or a check-in machine (if available) for a conventional paper one. In the event you are experiencing troubles with your phone, or have accidentally deleted your boarding pass, the above is further applicable.

Widerøe self-check-in machines

These are the screens you may use to check in at the airport. Check if the airport you are departing from has check-in machines before your flight. The majority of check-in machines provide you with the option of checking in with either your passport or your last name and booking reference, which you will find on your booking confirmation.

Widerøe check-in deadlines

To keep flights on time, check-in deadlines are essential. Be sure you have your boarding pass and have checked in any baggage before the deadline, whether you checked in on your mobile device, at the check-in desk, or at a check-in machine.

Widerøe baggage allowance & regulations

Find more detailed information regarding Widerøe's baggage policy you can read below.

Wideroe carry-on baggage

The class of your flight ticket influences the number of carry-on baggage items you are permitted on a Widerøe flight. Carry-on baggage has to conform to airline regulations.

If it happens that the carry-on baggage does not comply with regulations, it should be checked in at a Widerøe desk or a self-service bag drop kiosk, where available. You could need to pay extra fees for this.

Carry-on baggage dimensions – max. 55 x 40 x 20 cm

Economy Class – limited to 1 item of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg
Business Class – limited to 1 item of carry-on baggage, up to 8 kg each

Wideroe baggage rules for checked-in luggage

The free baggage allowance is determined by the travel class and the fare of the flight ticket.

Dimension regulations for checked-in baggage – max. 158 cm (width + height + depth)

Wideroe checked-in baggage allowance

Economy Class – 1 baggage item, up to 23 kg (Economy)

Baggage considered to be excess

Economy Class – over 23 kg (max. 32 kg) and/or above 158 cm (width + height + depth)
Business Class – above 158 cm (width + height + depth)

Wideroe baggage allowance: Sports equipment

It is a good idea to make a reservation for your sports equipment before travelling because there is a limitation on the amount of space available for these items.

Wideroe luggage problems

When baggage gets damaged, or fails to arrive at your destination, it could be due to a number of causes. A lost baggage tag, unfavourable weather conditions, or technical difficulties in the baggage handling area can lead to baggage issues.

Delayed / damaged baggage on Wideroe flights

Damaged or delayed baggage needs to be declared promptly at the Widerøe baggage tracing counter or the airline's service desk. It is vital to keep hold of all flight documents, in particular your boarding pass and baggage claim tag.

Written confirmation is always a necessity, as well as a reference number of your claim. Until the baggage delivery or resolution of your claim, it is vital to maintain these documents.

Another method to enforce a claim for difficulties with baggage is to pursue your case with the services of MYFLYRIGHT, more details of which can be found here.
