Austrian Airlines check-in
Austrian Airlines offers a choice of check-in methods – your mobile phone, online, airport self-check-in machines, or at the check-in counter in the airport.
In case you demand particular on-board services or are travelling with pets, be sure to check in directly at the check-in desk in the airport you are departing from.
Austrian Airlines online check-in
Passengers may check in online from 47 hours prior to the time of departure, select a seat and print their boarding pass or receive it on their mobile phone (first ensure mobile check-in is possible in the airport of departure).
Mobile check-in
From 47 hours before departure, you can check in, reserve your seat, and receive your boarding pass via your mobile device. Make sure mobile check-in is available in the airport you are departing from.
In the event there are any issues with your mobile boarding pass, you are able to get a conventional paper boarding pass from a check-in machine (where available in the departure airport) or from the airline check-in desk at the airport. This also applies in the event you have any difficulties with your phone, or in case you delete your boarding pass by mistake.
Airline check-in machine
These are the machines which allow you to check in yourself at the airport. Make sure if the airport you are departing from has check-in machines before travelling. Most check-in machines allow you to check in with either your passport or your last name and booking reference, which you will find on your booking confirmation.
Flight check-in deadlines
The purpose of check-in deadlines is to make sure flights take off punctually. Verify you have your boarding pass and have checked in any baggage ahead of the deadline, whether you checked in on your mobile device, at the check-in counter, or at a check-in machine.

Austrian Airlines luggage problems
Damaged baggage, or baggage not arriving at the destination, could be attributed to several variables. The baggage handling area experiencing technical difficulties, poor weather, or the baggage tag coming loose, can all cause a variety of difficulties with your baggage.
Delayed or damaged baggage
Damaged or delayed baggage must be declared at once at the Austrian Airlines baggage tracing counter or the airline's service desk. It is vital to maintain all flight documents, most crucially your boarding pass and baggage claim tag.
Your claim reference number, as well as confirmation in writing, is always necessary. Make sure you have this till baggage receipt or your claim is settled.
You can also pursue a claim for baggage problems using MYFLYRIGHT's services, which you can find out more about here.
