Qatar Airways check-in

Qatar Airways offers a choice of check-in methods – your mobile phone, online, airport check-in machines, or at the check-in desk in the airport.

Passengers who have special on-board requirements, or who are travelling with pets, must check in at the airline counter in the airport they are departing from.

Qatar Airways online check-in

Online check-in opens from 48 hours (24 hours for flights to/from the USA) ahead of scheduled departure and enables seat selection and either printing of your boarding pass or downloading it to a mobile device (ensure mobile check-in is possible at the departure airport).

Qatar online check-in with mobile

You can simply check in and download the mobile boarding pass to your mobile device wherever you are. From 48 hours (24 hours for flights to/from the USA) before departure, you can check in, book your seat, and get your boarding pass using your smartphone or tablet. Check that mobile check-in is available in your departure airport.

In case there are any difficulties with your mobile boarding pass, you can get a regular paper one from a check-in machine (if available in the airport) or from the airline check-in counter in the airport. In the event you are experiencing troubles with your phone, or have accidentally deleted your boarding pass, the above is further applicable.

Qatar check-in machine

These are the machines which allow you to check in yourself at the airport. Make sure check-in machines are available in your airport of departure prior to your flight. You can typically check in at the machine either with your passport, or by typing your last name and booking reference, which is in your booking confirmation.

Qatar Airways hand luggage / carry-on baggage

Your flight ticket travel class affects the carry-on baggage allowance when travelling with Qatar Airways. Carry-on baggage must fall within the regulations of the airline.

When the carry-on baggage does not meet regulations, it has to be checked in at a Qatar Airways counter or a self-service bag drop kiosk, where possible. Additional charges may be required in this instance.

It is necessary to report damaged or delayed baggage immediately, either to the Qatar Airways baggage tracing counter or the Qatar Airways service desk. Save all documents relevant to your flight, specifically your boarding pass and baggage claim tag.

It is a requirement to provide confirmation in writing and the reference number for your claim. Till receiving your baggage, or claim resolution, it is crucial to keep hold of these documents.

Flying with a baby or children on Qatar flights

There must be a separate seat booked for children who are from the age of two (2).

Be aware that some countries have particular regulations regarding minors landing in or departing from that country, who are travelling on their own, with a parent, or with an adult who is not the parent.

Ahead of travelling, check you have all the required travel documents, to check you will not be denied entry or exit by the country.

Carrycots – reservation available for most flights, restricted to babies below 11 kg. Booking must be made require booking in advance. A reservation fee for the carrycot seat may be required.

Travelling with pets with Qatar Airways is allowed. Requires booking no later than 48 hours before departure.

As long as the animal meets weight, scale, country, and other airline rules, you can fly with it with an extra fee as carry-on baggage or in the cargo hold area of the airplane.
