Smartwings check-in
Smartwings' check-in choices enable you to check in online, using your mobile device, at a check-in machine or at the airline check-in desk at the airport.
You are required to check in at the airline desk in the airport you are departing from if travelling with pets or in case you demand special on-board services.
Smartwings online check-in
Online check-in opens from 30 hours ahead of time of departure and enables seat selection and either printing of your boarding pass or downloading it to a mobile device (make sure mobile check-in is available at the departure airport).
Smartwings mobile check-in
For further convenience, you have the possibility to choose to download your mobile boarding pass, making it possible to check in anytime you like. From 30 hours before departure, you can check in, select your seat, and get your boarding pass via your mobile device. Mobile check-in is not available in all airports, so it is important to look this up when planning your flight.
In the event you have a problem with your mobile boarding pass, you can go to the airline check-in counter or a check-in machine (where available) for a conventional paper one. This also applies in the event your phone has issues, or your boarding pass is deleted.
Smartwings self-check-in machines
These are the screens you can use to check in at the airport. Not all airports have self-check-in machines, so check that your airport of departure does ahead of your trip. With the majority of check-in machines, you can check in by using your passport, or by filling in your last name and the flight booking reference (found in your booking confirmation).
Smartwings check-in deadlines
Check-in deadlines are crucial in order to achieve on-time departure for flights. Before the deadline you should have your boarding pass, however you checked in – in person, online, with your mobile phone, or if you were automatically checked in – and baggage must also have been checked in.
Smartwings baggage regulations
Find more information regarding Smartwings' baggage policy below.
Smartwings carry-on baggage
Smartwings' carry-on baggage allowance is determined by the flight ticket's travel class.
The carry-on baggage must adhere to the airline’s regulations.
If it happens that your baggage does not comply with Smartwings' carry-on regulations, you must check it in at the airline desk or, if possible, at a self-service bag drop kiosk. It is important to note that you may be charged in the event that you have to check this baggage.

Foldable garment bag dimensions – max. 40 x 30 x 15 cm
Economy Class – 1 item of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg

Smartwings baggage policy for checked luggage
Economy Class – 1 item of baggage, up to 23 kg
Business Class – 2 baggage items, up to 32 kg each
Smartwings baggage size policy: Excess Luggage
In relation to excess or special baggage items, some essential points need to be kept in mind.
Baggage considered to be excess
Economy Class – over 23 kg (maximum 32 kg) and/or above 150 cm (width + height + depth), a maximum limit of 250 cm
Business Class – above 150 cm (width + height + depth, a maximum limit of 250 cm)
Smartwings baggage allowance: Sports equipment
It is a good idea to make a reservation for your sports baggage before travelling – at least 2 days before your flight – because there is a limitation on the amount of space available for these items.
Smartwings luggage problems
There are a number of reasons why baggage gets damaged or does not arrive at the destination airport. A detached baggage tag, poor weather, or technical issues in the baggage handling area can cause baggage concerns.
Delayed / damaged baggage on Smartwings
A report must be made promptly to the Smartwings baggage tracing desk or service counter in the unfortunate event your baggage is damaged or is delayed at the airport of arrival. Each flight document should be kept, especially your baggage claim tag and boarding pass.
Confirmation in writing is always requisite, and also a reference number of your claim. Make sure you have this until baggage receipt, or your claim is resolved.
Another option to pursue a claim for difficulties with baggage is to process the claim by enlisting the help of MYFLYRIGHT, more detailed information can be found here.
