SWISS Airlines check-in

SWISS Airlines online check-in

Online check-in begins from 23 hours before scheduled departure and allows passengers to choose a seat and print out their boarding pass or have it sent to their mobile phone (check the availability of mobile check-in in the airport you are departing from). SWISS Airlines mobile check-in

Possible from 23 hours prior to take-off, you can check in, book a seat, and get your mobile boarding pass, all on your smartphone or tablet. Mobile check-in is not possible in all airports, so it is important to look this up when preparing for your trip.

If there are any issues with your mobile boarding pass, you may pick up a standard paper boarding pass from a check-in machine (if available in the departure airport) or from the airline check-in desk in the airport. SWISS Airlines Carry-on baggage

The class of your flight ticket determines the amount of carry-on baggage items you are permitted on a SWISS International Airlines flight.

Carry-on baggage is required to comply with the regulations of the airline.

If the carry-on baggage does not conform to regulations, it is required to be checked in at a SWISS International Airlines desk or a self-service bag drop kiosk, where possible. Please note that you could need to pay charges when you have to check this baggage.

Economy Class – 1 item of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg

Reporting damaged / delayed baggage

Damaged or delayed baggage has to be declared immediately at the SWISS International Airlines baggage tracing counter or the airline's service counter. Each flight document needs to be kept, first and foremost your baggage claim tag and boarding pass.

You must always give your claim reference number and confirmation in writing. You must keep this until you receive your baggage or claim resolution.

Travelling with children on SWISS Airlines flights

There needs to be a separate seat booked for children who are aged two (2) and above.

Please note that some countries have particular regulations regarding children under a certain age coming into or leaving that country, who are travelling on their own, with a parent, or with an adult without parental authority.

Always check which documents are a requirement for your trip prior to travelling, to ensure entry and exit is permitted in a specific country.

Carrycots – reservation possible for long-haul flights and during European flights for Business class, babies must be below 11 kg. To get a carrycot for your child, you should make a reservation in advance. A seat booking fee for the seat the carrycot is in could be applied.

Children’s menu – can be pre-ordered no later than 24 hours before departure.

Travelling with pets on SWISS Airlines flights

Travelling with pets with SWISS International Airlines is allowed. Requires booking through Customer Service line.

As long as the weight, size, in addition to country and other airline restrictions are complied with, you are allowed to travel with your pet with an extra fee either as additional carry-on baggage or it can be transported via the cargo hold of the plane.
